Waiau Motor Camp and Backpackers is situated between Kaikoura, Mt Lyford Ski Field and Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa on State Highway 70.
Take to the nearby Waiau River for swimming and a spot of fishing or head to the local golf course (located 2km from camp). Its a short drive to Mt Lyford where you can enjoy the ski field. Mt Lyford has the largest learners slopes in NZ, ice skating and horse trekking. Hanmer Springs Village with its thermal pools and adventure activities is only 40 minutes away while Kaikoura, famous for its marine environment, is only 1 hour's drive from Waiau.
The Waiau Motor Camp is designated non-smoking and facilities include 16 power sites, 20 non power sites and 12 rooms (sleeping 2-4 people). There is wheel chair access.
MEALS ARE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST (24 HOURS NOTICE REQUIRED) Cooked dinner and desert $15.00 per person, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea $15.00 per person.
