For a small region the Hurunui has a huge events calendar.
From large major events such as the long running Waipara Wine and Food Festival, the Rainbow Rage Mountain Bike Adventure Ride, “Day on the Green” concerts through to smaller local township events such as golfing tournaments, craft fairs and fun runs.
Why not make a short break of it and stay in the district for a few days, there's plenty of accommodation options available to suit every budget.
Not to be missed events include - the Christmas Country Fete held in Culverden, Art in a Garden at Flaxmere Gardens and concerts at the Mud House Winery & Cafe.

 An Agricultural and Pastoral Show including horses, sheep, cattle, steer riding, shearing, dog and sheep dog trails. And shed classes including wool, woodcraft, vegetables and fruit, home industries, cookery, flowers, handcraft, photography, and art. Pony and sheep dog trail judging gets the event under way followed at 9.30am by the sheep, cattle and most of the shed sections. Photography and art are pre-judged. |
