For a small region the Hurunui has a huge events calendar.
From large major events such as the long running Waipara Wine and Food Festival, the Rainbow Rage Mountain Bike Adventure Ride, “Day on the Green” concerts through to smaller local township events such as golfing tournaments, craft fairs and fun runs.
Why not make a short break of it and stay in the district for a few days, there's plenty of accommodation options available to suit every budget.
Not to be missed events include - the Christmas Country Fete held in Culverden, Art in a Garden at Flaxmere Gardens and concerts at the Mud House Winery & Cafe.

Waipara Valley Farmers Market is held on a Saturday rain, hail or shine from 9am – 12 noon (beginning Labour Weekend). Located in Amberley right outside the Council Chambers on the main road. This is a great venue with shade and easy access. There is plenty of parking both on the street and in the Council carpark. Produce available should include - Also on offer will be sweet treats, home baking, preserves and condiments. |
